UPS First Day of Listing Events at the NYSE

Challenge

Months, in some cases years, of planning go into the ‘First Day of Listing’ a corporation at the NYSE. The event has to go off perfectly, with as wide an audience as possible, at 8:00 AM on the listing day. TF partnered on this enormous challenge for a variety of clients.

Solution

This always required an overnight load in, outside events (in the case of UPS think Cargo Planes and branding the face of the Exchange) a coordinated opening bell ceremony, a video news release (VNR) package and a variety of media support packages.

From 1998 up until September 11, 2001 (when security requirements for the Exchange banned events on Broad Street), our team produced a series of these complex events announcing the first day of listing for many companies, including DaimlerChrysler, ATT Wireless, UPS, AOL Time Warner, Prudential, Met Life, John Hancock, and Thomson Financial and Accenture.
